Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT TYPES OF HOME EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR FLEXIBILITY CLASSES?

The necessary basics for flexibility classes are a bottle of water, yoga mat (or soft surface), two foam yoga blocks, a yoga strap (a belt also works – something that does not stretch), and a pillow for your knees. (You will also need a wall and chair or couch nearby).

Once you can invest a bit more, I recommend purchasing a massage ball, super band, and foam roller. I recommend not spending too much on these items – I have the most basic options from Decathlon and they work great. If you want to invest your money on anything get a nice durable yoga mat that has enough grip for sweaty palms and feet and enough cushion to not hurt your knees or back.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR FLEXIBILITY TRAINER?

I like to start classes with a reminder, "You know your body better than I do. I am just here to help you understand it even better." I believe that conceptually understanding what is happening in your body is the key to making progress. I also do not teach what I do not know and will not make up bullshit answers. (I will however research or try to connect you to someone who knows more than me!)

I prioritize form, strength and safety over immediately nailing a trick so that you can progress sustainably. In my classes we break down segments of moves so that getting the final form comes, well, simply.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Whatever class you are taking, please wear layers. For flexibility classes please wear comfy form fitting yoga pants so that I can see your lines. For back flexibility classes please wear a form fitting top and or sweater as well. Back warmers are welcome! If it is really hot then of course you are welcome to wear less clothing. You will warm up in class!

For pole pop up classes please cover your genitalia. For those who have not done pole yet I recommend short shorts and if you have boobs, then pop on a sports bra to protect them. For some classes you will not need that much skin grip. Have your pole outfit grand reveal under some layers. If you, for whatever reason, prefer more modest clothing I recommend investing in sticky leggings (I have two pairs myself).

ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR WORKSHOPS?

Yes I am! Thank you for asking. I will travel to give workshops and can design a workshop specific to your event. See my available workshops and pricing here!
